Carthage has joined the NFI Crab Council, the leading industry led, pre-competitive, crab sustainability organization. Carthage is the 34th member company to join the Crab Council. Since 2009, the NFI Crab Council has practiced industry led stewardship, addressing fishery needs through scientific, social, and financial channels. All products sold under the Quality Catch brand will have a traceability QR code that will allow consumers to trace the product from the point of catch.Seafood traceability is the ability to fully trace a product from the point of sale back to its point of origin. Benefits of high traceability are food safety, sustainability and transparency.

Catch Method
Carthage Seafood provided over 10,000 complimentary crabbing cages to fishermen, significantly enhancing their livelihoods and socio-economic standing. This initiative directly impacted hundreds of fishermen, empowering them to boost their earnings and achieve improved economic stability.

Traceability
We developed a transparent tracing system where all our products are traceable using a QR code, any customer can enter the lot number and get all information about the product and its origins, date of catch and the name of the boat. This initiative is part of our commitment to combat illegal and unregulated fishing in Africa.
